  • Contributing to an NIH-NCI-funded project titled “Using Natural Language Processing and Crowd-sourcing to Monitor and Evaluate Public Information and Communication Disparities About Colon Cancer.”
  • Helping the group with statistical analysis using tools from bayesian inference and traditional statistics.

  • Collaborated with drug developers in Inflammation and Immunology (I&I) group under the Global Biometric and Data Management Division (GBDM).
  • Learned foundational concepts of clinical trials from domain experts.
  • Conducted a methodological research by borrowing recent advancements from reinforcement learning and causal inference.

  • Organized weekly lectures and lab sessions independently as an instructor to teach introductory statistics courses to undergraduate students of business and engineering majors with class sizes ranging between 50 and 80.

  • Added machine learning-based improvements in API-based solutions such as face detection and matching across IDs, automatic ID number masking, and extracting key fields from balance sheets with optical character recognition (OCR) and basic natural language processing (NLP).
  • Worked on NLP-based tasks such as news sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, etc.
  • Improved feature extractions and analysis to improve the loan disbursement recommendation engine.
